Audience Feedback on Roughcut

We got 5 people from our target audience to watch our music video rough cuts and give us feedback on what they thought.
The green and purple post its were things they liked and enjoyed, the orange post its our what they didn't like and things that could be changed.

From this feedback, we our taking out a lot of the scene with water as we felt as if there was to much water through out the video as well as the swimming. However, we our going to use more colour as a lot of people enjoyed that as well as the target audience liked when the visuals connected with the lyrics.

Magazine Advert Analysis

This is a magazine advert that we analysis of Kasbian's new album.
This helped in the research of our advert as we know now that we have to include our record label, release date, name of the album and reviews could be put on the advert to attract even more of an audience.

This advert used a variety of font sizes and different fonts, it also used a variety of colours which made it appealing to the audience. They also used an image that could be controversial, so this makes people reading the magazine wonder what it is advertising.

9 frame anaylsis on Rachel Plattern "fight song"

interim Evaluation.

this week we have been experimenting with fabrics that we could use in our music video. we have used different shots and different angles when shooting the scenes with fabric. we layered the fabric over the top of the singer and moved it to create the effect of water. we also laid the fabric around the singer, like she was hiding behind it.

Research on Rhianna Loud Digipak

what is a digipak? This is a type of packaging for CD's or DVDs, typically made from cardboard with an internal plastic holder for one or more discs. This album as  a whole seems to use "red roses" symbolically to connote beauty. As we see them inside panels Rhianna is stretched out on a bed of red roses. she is also wearing a white girly dress. the whole thing looks innocent and romantic. The CD is of a simple peach-red coloured flower that fits the whole CD. The front cover of the Digipak is of Rhianna's face with a red lip and red hair which matches the red roses on the rest of the Digipak. The name of the album is printed across the bottom of the cover.

Magazine cover ideas

For our Music Video we have started creating a magazine cover and we have a few ideas of what it could look like. We have taken images from stills of the music video and have edited them with over laying photos. To edit these photos we have been using Adobe Photoshop. This is the process of one of the ideas that we have had. we have used a Mandala image and have layered it over the top of the original image from our music video. obviously we cannot use this image of the mandala as it is from the internet.

CD Digipack Research

Organising Actors

In our music video we only used one actor, Georgia Royle. We used Georgia as we thought she fitted the image that we wanted to portray, as well as Georgia being part of our group which it made it very convenient and easy to film whenever we needed.

Updated Props List

This is a board on which I made on Pinterest for inspiration for props and our music video. From creating this board i found photos of people in front of projectors which created shadows on their face, i really liked this idea so we introduced it into our music video. We thought it would be effective as it fit in with our genre and added something different to the video.

Todorov's Theory

Todorov produced a theory which he believed to be able to be applied to any film. He believed that all films followed the same narrative pattern. They all went through stages called the equilibrium, disequilibrium, acknowledgement, solving and again equilibrium.

There are five stages the narrative can progress through:
1. A state of equilibrium
2. A disruption of that order by an event.
3. A recognition that the disorder has occurred.
4. An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.
5. A return or restoration of a NEW equilibrium

Record Label Chosen

The research that i have gathered on record labels, I feel that the best record label for our song/artist is Capitol Records as I believe the genre of the song is indie rock and the record label takes various genres as well as indie rock artist.

This record label is also very new in the UK. This is suitable for an upcoming artist like Jasmine Thompson. However, the label is big and well known in the US, so the popularity and the connections will really be to the artists advantage.

This label has signer artists like Tori Kelly, 5SOS and Troye Sivan. Which are all artist which are young and upcoming stars.

Digipack Testers

These are some images that i have been playing around with on Pixlr to see if they are suitable for the digipack. I feel that the first photo is very effective as a front cover, as it creates an edgy vibe to it, i hope to use the idea of the 4 images cut up on the front cover. I also think the last two photos are very effective, i layered photos on top of each other and feeling that that could work either on the magazine advert or aspects of layering photos on the digipack.
