Annoted Stills for Representation

Performance: The still image that we used was a picture of me playing a piano.

Location- Our location was a small space in the dining hall, but we took the image from behind, so using an over the shoulder shot we created an image that would portray to the audience that we were in a studio or a music room rather than a dining hall in a school.
Props- The props that we used was a piano, which we used because we wanted to show to the audience that it was a performance at a gig or in a studio.
Lighting- The lighting that we used was natural lighting, however we choose a certain angle type to make it slightly darker which would emphasis to the audience how we were at a gig or in a studio which commonly would have low key dark lighting.
Camera Angles- The camera angle that we used was an over the shoulder shot, so we could mainly see the piano and how i was playing the piano, so the focus was on that rather than my face. This made the still image show that it was performance as the focus was on the piano.
Costume- The costume that we used was just what i was wearing at the time that we had to film which was just a white jumper and jeans. If we had more time we would have thought about our costume more and maybe had a dress on or something more formal as this is what artists commonly wear when they are performing, however the white jumper symbolizes that the artist is pure and calm which helps with the performance being emphasized as calm which is what a piano performance would normally be.

For our image picture we took a picture of two girls going there hair and make up in a toilet mirror.
The picture was an over the should shot which showed the reflection not real person, as well as the location being a toilet. This is a very stereotypical girl thing to do to go to the toilet and apply or correct there look.
The picture shows that the girls want to look good and look there best. This picture portrays them to the audience as they want to impress someone. The jackets they are wearing are edgy and show that they are stylish and care about there appearance.

Narrative

The genre used in this picture was narrative we used the car to represent the journey in the story of the music video. The location of the camera angle is positioned in a way that only shows the person in the car. you cannot see around the person and it gives no clues as to where the person is going or has ended up. the person is thinking and does not show much expression on her face. The lighting isnt light or dark but a mixture of both, this could convey the persons feelings or emotions to the audience. The person is in a leather jacket which shows the type of clothing and her edgy personality.
